Marián Áč, President, European Deposit Return Systems Association (EDRSA)

Marián Áč is the President of the European Deposit Return Systems Association (EDRSA), the leading European platform representing deposit return systems and their stakeholders, with a shared mission to shape the future of sustainable beverage packaging and drive material circularity.

Marián brings over two decades of senior management experience gained in international and multicultural environments. He began his management career in 2003 at VUB Factoring, where he served as a board member, and later held several senior executive positions at UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, a pan-European commercial banking group.

From 2016 to 2019, Marián served as Head of the General Manager Section at the Bratislava Transport Company, and from 2019 until January 2021, he led the Institute for Strategies and Analyses at the Government Office of the Slovak Republic. In 2022, Marián was appointed CEO of Správca zálohového systému n.o., the national deposit return system operator in Slovakia. In 2025, he was elected President of EDRSA.

Marián specialises in general management, human resources, and project and crisis management, with strong expertise in finance. He holds a Doctor of Laws (JUDr.) degree.
